As a manager in an international company I know how important it is to speak a few languages. All members of my team speak at least Dutch, English and French. It doesn't have to be perfect, but you have to be able to express yourself and get your message across. During the job interviews I always gauge the language skills of the candidates. That way I know immediately who I need to hire. - employerSpeaks

The Chinese language is on the rise, a trend that has been going on for several years. Employees working for international companies in particular are increasingly interested in the Far East to expand their professional contacts. Eastern European languages, such as Hungarian, are also reaching more and more students. To learn a language you don't necessarily have to take physical group lessons. Learning languages online is becoming more and more popular, especially in these times.

A lot of apps have been developed in recent years that allow you to translate things in a foreign language without too much effort. You speak to your smartphone and it immediately translates it into the desired language. Online and digital tools are gaining popularity among language students. On our eCampus, for example, you'll be presented with numerous practical exercises, you can ask your teacher questions and find additional study materials.

A few years ago, I went to live with my girlfriend in Brussels and opened a bakery there. My customers like to chat, but my French was not too good. I hardly dared to say anything. My girlfriend recommended a language course through distance learning, ideal to combine with my strange hours as a baker. It took me about ten months to finish the basic course at my own pace. The teacher was very patient and gave me super handy tips. I am satisfied and so are my customers. - exStudentSpeaking
